Selectrix Managing Director dines with Indonesian President

During the recent APEC summit in Sydney, our Managing Director, David Stuckey, had the pleasure of attending an exclusive “invitation only” function hosted by His Excellency Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the President of Indonesia. The event was to celebrate the President’s birthday and was attended by dignitaries including the Hon. Malcolm Turnbull, Federal Minister for the Environment and Water resources.

The President addressed the guests and spoke about the efforts of terrorists to divide Australia and Indonesia through bombings such as the Bali disaster. This aim of the terrorists, in his opinion, has not become reality, and in fact has lead to closer links between Australia and Indonesia. The efforts of Australians throughout all the disasters Indonesia has had to endure, both natural and man made, is much appreciated by Indonesians, and Indonesians are inviting even closer links between the two countries in the future.

The President’s words were met with a warm reception from those who attended the celebration and were reiterated during Malcolm Turnbull’s response.
